What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be very intimidating, to say the least. Many questions come to mind in preparing to attend a new church for the first time. We want to take this opportunity to help you feel more at ease and answer a few questions that you might have.

Those who visit Arnold Baptist Tabernacle can expect to find what church is supposed to be. You will find a family atmosphere with imperfect, but sincere people who desire to please and serve God. Since we believe that God is present and the audience of every service, you will not find a casual approach to worship in any of our services. You will find people who love God and take our worship and service to the Lord very seriously, and therefore, we do our best to make every service a purposed time to honor and please our Saviour.

You will experience heart-felt and spirit-filled singing of hymns of the faith by people who have been gloriously saved by the grace of God. You will all enjoy special music from various groups within the church that uplift our Lord and prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God.

You will find a strong emphasis on the preaching and teaching of the Scriptures with down-to-earth, practical applications for life. We still believe God’s Word changes lives! At the end of each service, there is an invitation given to respond to the challenge from the Bible. The fact that God would take time and speak to us through His Word is an amazing thought within itself and requires that He receive a response from each of us. The invitation is open to all to come and pray, seek counsel and encouragement, make personal decisions, or come to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Pastor or trained men and women are always available to pray with you or assist you with further help during the invitation time and after services.

What About Children and Youth Services?
At Arnold Baptist Tabernacle, we love children and young people and take seriously the responsibility to give them the exceptional care and spiritual guidance that you would expect.

A Nursery is provided for every service for infants and children under 3 years old. Our Nursery is safe and clean and staffed by faithful and caring ladies of our church family.

On Sunday mornings at 10 AM, children ages 3-12 years can enjoy Bible-centered Sunday School classes with trained and compassionate teachers and helpers. At 11 AM, there is a Children’s Church for ages 3-6 and a Junior Church for ages 7-12.

Teenagers have Sunday School at 10 AM with Bible lessons geared to help prepare them for the challenges of growing up in a constantly changing world. These lessons help guide them with Biblical principles, a God-centered worldview, and practical applications for their everyday life. The Teens have regular activities and attend several Youth Conferences, and Youth Camps during the summer. We also utilize them in different church ministries to train them for future leadership.

How Should I Dress?
There is no set dress code at Arnold Baptist Tabernacle for members or guests. Most of our church family dress in traditional “Sunday best,” as we believe very strongly that God deserves our best in every aspect of our lives. We do not believe that the “casual” attitude of our day helps to promote the Biblical attitude that God’s people should have when we meet to worship our Saviour and King. At the same time, we do not attempt to be fancy or showy, but simply appropriate and modest. Regardless of what you wear, you will receive a warm welcome from God’s people as you join us as we meet with the LORD.

Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We invite you to our services with the desire that you find a warm welcome, a loving church family, a meaningful worship experience, and a helpful message from God’s Word. We do not want you, as our guest, to feel any obligation to participate in the offering. If you decide to, that is up to you. There will be no pressure or requirement.
